The RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, the resident orchestra at the National Concert Hall plays an exciting and central role in classical music in Ireland, through live performances, broadcasts, touring and recordings. In addition to its annual subscription season, summer concerts series, residencies and national tours, the orchestra continues to make a name for itself internationally through its recordings with Naxos, Marco Polo and on the RTÉ label.
The Irish Baroque Orchestra, under the inspirational artistic direction of Monica Huggett, allow Irish audiences to experience the beauty of baroque music as it was intended to be heard. The IBO seeks to keep the tradition of baroque music alive for future generations, with education and recording initiatives being a vital aspect of its work.
Chamber Choir Ireland is the country’s flagship choral ensemble under the internationally celebrated and multi-award-winning choral conductor, Paul Hillier, as Artistic Director. They have been resident at the Hall since 2011.
Also resident are Music Network - Ireland’s national music touring and development agency, which was founded in 1986 by the Arts Council. Music Network contributes significantly to music development throughout Ireland through its national reach, development of touring infrastructure, and linking of arts policy with on the ground activity.
Music Generation is Ireland’s National Music Education Programme. Initiated by Music Network and co-funded by U2, The Ireland Funds together with, The Department of Education and Skills and Local Music Education Partnerships, Music Generation helps children and young people to access music education in their own locality. They are also based at the National Concert Hall.
