RTÉ and The National Concert Hall present 
A Leaving Certificate Guide to Tchaikovsky’s Romeo & Juliet

Monday 12 November at 2.30pm and Tuesday 13 November at 10am, 12noon and 2.30pm (approx. one hour)

  • RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra
  • Presented by Dr Gordon Munro
  • Conducted by James Cavanagh

Working with the full forces of the orchestra and using digital media to provide a visual guide to the music Dr Gordon Munro, Head of Conservatory of Music and Drama, Dublin Institute of Technology, will pull Romeo & Juliet apart to uncover curriculum concepts and provide clear listening posts for students. The presentation will end with a full performance of this great work.

  • Presented by Rhona Clarke
  • Conducted by Blánaid Murphy

Hear Bach’s Cantata 78 and Barry’s Piano Quartet No 1 played live by Ireland’s leading classical musicians, with expert commentary from Rhona Clarke to help prepare your students for the Leaving Cert. Students and teachers are invited to prepare the chorale from BWV 78 in advance, to sing from your seats on the day.
