The National Concert Hall’s January-March calendar for 2025 comprises a plethora of musical treats for all ages and tastes - from sublime symphonic concerts, intimate chamber recitals, distinguished international guests and inspirational contemporary performances. 

The first three months of the New Year promises an exciting array of performances by national and international musicians spanning a multitude of genres and styles. Highlights include a New Year’s Day celebration of Strauss with the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO); a special screening of SING SING, with a score by Bryce Dessner (NCH Artist-in-Residence) performed by the National Symphony Orchestra on 19th of January and Celebrating the Voice: A Professional Development Programme for Singers by NCH Artist-in-Residence Tara Erraught, beginning Monday 10th February. 

Our International Orchestras and Recitals Series continues with a visit from young blind pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii on Saturday 1st February who will perform a programme of Beethoven, Liszt and Chopin; the Prague Symphony Orchestra perform Dvořák and Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto with Alexander Sitkovetsky as guest soloist on Sunday 16th of February with conductor Tomáš Brauner and on Thursday 27th of February celebrated pianist Alice Sara Ott performs three of Beethoven’s most distinctive Piano Sonatas and a selection of nocturnes by John Field. National Symphony Orchestra highlights include National Symphony Orchestra: Life On Our Planet In Concert – A Netflix Original Documentary on Friday 10th of January; a special concert to celebrate Shostakovich’s 50th anniversary year and a Ravel birthday concert on Friday 7th of March. 

Elsewhere in the programme families can enjoy Peter and the Wolf & A Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra with the National Symphony Orchestra on Sunday 9th of February and King of the Fairies and his Magic Harp on Saturday 18th of January. 

Acclaimed Irish act Dervish perform The Great Irish Songbook on Thursday 30th of January, domestic luminary Declan O’Rourke celebrates the 20th anniversary of lauded album Since Kyabram on Thursday 13th of February and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra perform The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber on Saturday 15th of February. 

St. Patrick’s Day festivities include a very special concert by Martin Hayes with the National Symphony Orchestra on Friday 14th March, the Kilfenora Ceilí BandSparks Will Fly on Sunday 16th March and the main stage debut of piano prodigy Jamie Duffy on Monday 17th March. Also in March, the NCH presents Irish Women in Harmony International Women's Day concert featuring unique voices of Moya Brennan, Una Healy, Tolu Makay, Aimée, RuthAnne, Erica Cody, Stephanie Rainey, Soulé and special guests.  

Our Learning and Participation Department has a wide selection of activities over this time including new terms for Mini Music, Percussion Lab, Sing Out! Choir and Gamelan Ensemble.    

Whatever your musical taste there’s something for everyone at the National Concert Hall this season!
