National Concert Hall announces Joe Csibi as Head of Orchestra and Chorus

The National Concert Hall today announced the appointment of Joe Csibi as Head of Orchestra and Chorus to the National Symphony Orchestra and National Symphony Chorus.

The National Concert Hall today announced the appointment of Joe Csibi as Head of Orchestra and Chorus to the National Symphony Orchestra and National Symphony Chorus. Joe will provide strategic and artistic leadership across all activities of the orchestra and choir, having specific responsibility for their artistic vision, business and financial management in consideration of the NCH’s overall strategy. He will be a key member of the NCH Senior Leadership Team. He will take up this position in the Autumn.

Speaking of his appointment, Joe Csibi stated: “I am thrilled to be taking up this role at this particular time. I believe very strongly in the power of brilliant symphonic, choral and orchestral music. The future holds exciting adventures for the NCH family, of which the National Symphony Orchestra and National Symphony Chorus are such an important part. I look forward to working with all the dynamic and enthusiastic musicians, artists, singers and teams at the NCH and the broader music and arts community to create world class music experiences for the present and for the future."

His background as a musician, orchestrator, composer, educator and creative producer gives him a rich perspective.

He joins the National Concert Hall at an immensely exciting time of transformation and development following the successful transfer of the National Symphony Orchestra and Chorus from RTÉ in January 2022 and as we look to a major redevelopment of the NCH. We greatly look forward to working with him.”

About Joe Csibi

Joe Csibi’s career extends from orchestral management to working as a professional musician, orchestrator, composer, educator, creative producer and musical director. His broad experience has seen him work with organisations including Wexford Festival Opera, Windmill Lane Studios, Wide Open Opera, Lyric Opera, Riverdance, MCD and Aiken Promotions.

Since 2019, he has been General Manager of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra where he has led and created innovative projects and performances for Irish and international audiences including live performances in venues all over Ireland, recordings, educational projects and orchestral performance for radio, television and online. Key achievements in that time have included the creation of bespoke orchestra projects working with Irish and international conductors, artists, composers and partners as well as the appointment of a Principal Guest Conductor, Associate Principal Conductor and two Associate Artists (Traditional and Jazz).
