The National Concert Hall (NCH) proudly presents the return of three world-renowned artists as part of its prestigious 2025 Perspectives Series. Featuring the lyrical jazz of the Brad Mehldau Trio, the culturally rich and evocative music of Rhiannon Giddens & Francesco Turrisi with guest Seckou Keita, and the profound artistry of Anouar Brahem Quartet, this series promises an unforgettable celebration of global music traditions.

Brad Mehldau Trio: Brad Mehldau, hailed by The New York Times as "the most influential jazz pianist of the last 20 years," returns to Dublin with his acclaimed trio, featuring Felix Moseholm (bass) and Jorge Rossy (drums). Known for his distinctive fusion of jazz, classical, and pop influences, Mehldau has earned global acclaim through collaborations with Pat Metheny, Renée Fleming, and Joshua Redman. His performances over the years have featured inventive reinterpretations of songs by artists such as The Beatles, Radiohead, and Gershwin, alongside a rich collection of original compositions, all delivered with his signature improvisational brilliance and emotional depth.

Rhiannon Giddens & Francesco Turrisi with Seckou Keita: Rhiannon Giddens, two-time Grammy winner, MacArthur “Genius” Grant recipient, and Pulitzer Prize winner, returns with Italian multi-instrumentalist Francesco Turrisi. Their Grammy-winning album They’re Calling Me Home captivated audiences with its profound storytelling. Joining them for their NCH performance is Seckou Keita, dubbed "the Hendrix of the Kora," bringing his ground-breaking sound that has graced stages from Glastonbury to Montreal Jazz. Together, they promise a compelling performance blending American roots, African rhythms, and European influences.

Anouar Brahem Quartet – After the Last Sky: Tunisian oud master Anouar Brahem returns with After the Last Sky, an evocative and deeply moving musical journey inspired by the works of renowned Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish. Known for his ability to bridge diverse musical worlds, Brahem seamlessly blends Arabic musical traditions with elements of jazz and chamber music, creating a soundscape rich in emotion and nuance. For this performance, Brahem is joined by an exceptional ensemble: Django Bates on piano, whose inventive harmonies and improvisational brilliance add depth and complexity; Mats Eilertsen on double bass, providing a resonant and grounding presence; and Anja Lechner on cello, whose expressive playing brings warmth and lyrical beauty. Together, they form a quartet that transcends genres, weaving intricate melodies and subtle rhythms into a tapestry of sound that speaks to both the heart and the intellect.
