The National Youth Orchestra, conducted by Jessica Cottis and joined by soloist Niklas Liepe, presents a New Year Gala Concert, featuring Shostakovich’s Symphony No 10, and the national premier of Rachel Portman’s Tipping Points for orchestra, violin and text.

Shostakovich’s behemoth symphony steeped in defiance and Portman’s sonic environmental journey through music and poetry combine in a programme that inspires awe, creative hope and imaginative agency.
