This Summer Gala features some of the most popular pieces from the National Symphony Orchestra’s wonderfully rich repertoire. 

The ‘stylish conducting’ (Opera) of John Rigby leads a veritable greatest hits programme, with the ‘exquisite sound’ (Concert0.net) of Jesús León ringing out in classic arias from operetta and opera.

There’s something for everyone here. Sensation seekers will thrill to the stirring Prelude to Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg and dazzling Symphonic Dances from West Side Story. Lovers of romance can expect to luxuriate in the bewitching melodies of Debussy’s Clair de Lune, Tchaikovsky’s The Sleeping Beauty, and Johann Strauss II’s The Blue Danube Waltz, their passions satisfied by Lehár’s ardent ‘Dein ist mein ganzes herz’, Puccini’s soaring ‘Nessun Dorma’, and sizzling selections from Bizet’s Carmen.
