Creating a world-renowned music campus for Ireland

The programme to redevelop the National Concert Hall (NCH) and restore much of the Earlsfort Terrace site will transform our National Cultural Institution for music into a world-class venue, advancing Ireland on the global stage while enriching the musical experiences of performers and audiences for generations to come.

As a statutory body tasked with the development of music in Ireland, we place significant value and pride in fostering an interest in the arts through music and celebrating the importance that music holds in our everyday lives. The work of the NCH bears witness to how lives are transformed through the engagement, connection and enjoyment of music for everyone.

The NCH opened its doors for the first time in 1981, and has since promoted thousands of concerts, welcomed millions of visitors, while promoting music to all ages. It is now in significant need of a comprehensive refurbishment to meet the diverse needs of today’s audience. Various iterations of these plans commenced almost 25 years ago. This investment represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to provide a world-class, dynamic and thriving space for lifelong enjoyment of music, for everyone. It will open up the full space at Earlsfort Terrace, in the centre of Dublin, to the public for the very first time.

“Our vision is to be an inspiring, world-class music organisation, accessible to all, enriching people's lives and the cultural landscape of Ireland”
