Is there a dress code?
There is no dress code - feel free to dress up or down.
When should I arrive?
Visit us for a meal or glass of wine before a performance, but make sure you leave plenty of time to find your seat. We recommend you arrive at the National Concert Hall a minimum of 30 minutes before the performance starts. Performances start promptly and latecomers cannot be admitted in some cases.
Where do I pick up my tickets?
Tickets can be collected for all performances at the ticket kiosks in the foyer. Alternatively, bring your e-ticket on your mobile device or in printed format which will be scanned by the ushering staff.
What should I do if somebody else has my ticket?
You will need to have your ticket scanned at the entrance to the particular performance space. If you are waiting for someone who has your ticket, the best place to meet is on the front steps of the building on Earlsfort Terrace.
Is there a charge for using the cloakroom?
You may leave your bags in the cloakroom for free. Please do not leave bags unattended in the venue at any time.
What happens if I arrive a little late?
If you arrive late, the ushering staff will advise you on when there will be a break (if any) during the performance upon which you will be shown to your seats. You can view the performance on TV monitors during this time.
What is the age limit for babies and infants to require a ticket?
Children over 12 months will require their own ticket next to an accompanying adult.
Where can I buy a programme?
Programmes are available for sale for most concerts in the Main Foyer. You can also redeem programme vouchers, available to buy online ahead of your visit. Programmes include a synopsis (for narrative works), artist biographies, and illustrated pieces on the concert. Programmes usually cost €5, although souvenir programmes are produced for some concerts and these cost slightly more.
What dining options are available?
There are four bars, a tea coffee/snack bar and our onsite restaurant, The Terrace, at the National Concert Hall, all of which open before concerts and again during intervals. Visit The Terrace page for more details.
Can I take food and drink into the auditorium?
Food and drink are not permitted in the auditorium.
Is it possible to record or photograph the performance?
