COVID 19 CLOSURE PERIOD
National Concert Hall Currently Closed due to Covid-19
Following the advice of Government, the National Concert Hall currently remains closed to the public.
The NCH Box Office continues to liaise with ticket holders on concert schedule changes, refunds and cancellations. Customer queries can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
During this closure period we are continuing to work closely with the OPW and the Department for Media, Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sport and the Gaeltacht on preparatory works on our redevelopment plans, along with ensuring the building is being prepared for socially-distanced concerts from this Autumn.
Simon Taylor (CEO) highlighted the plans for the rest of the year by stating:
"While we look forward to welcoming audiences back to the National Concert Hall, we will have to do so in a way that protects our audiences, artists, and staff. We have run a series of live streamed concerts during May and June which were very well received by audiences from all over the world along with a busy Learning and Participation Programme. Our plan is to continue this activity into the Autumn and trial socially distanced concerts from September. We are also working closely with RTÉ to see how both RTÉ orchestras can return to performing at the NCH as soon as is possible.
During the current period of public closure, we are liaising with the OPW and our governing Department to ensure we can get as much preparatory work done in advance of our redevelopment plans.
However, with the current capacity restrictions impacting on the financial viability of promoting concerts, we will not be hiring the venue to external promoters for the remainder of 2020. Should social distancing requirements change in the coming months we will review this situation".
