Bryan Ferry returns to the National Concert Hall for the Irish debut of his new show
On Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 June, 8pm British music icon Bryan Ferry makes a welcome return to Dublin, following his 2013 sold-out concert, to perform the Irish debut of his new show ‘Bryan Ferry with Strings’.
Presented as part of ESB LIVE 2014, the show sees Ferry present new orchestral arrangements of both his Roxy Music and solo hits spanning 40 years at the National Concert Hall accompanied by his band and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.
Ferry will be working with conductor and arranger Richard Balcombe, with whom he worked for his 2013 performance at the BBC Proms in the Park. These concerts come after an impressive set of performances on the west coast of America surrounding Ferry’s lauded Coachella debut last month.
From his earliest recording with his group Roxy Music in the 1970s, Ferry has emerged as one of the most iconic and innovative singers and lyricists to emerge in popular music.
For his two concerts as part of ESB LIVE at the National Concert Hall, Ferry represents his oeuvre in a new and thrilling way.
ESB LIVE 2014 continues in November with Pink Martini, the American ensemble famed for their upbeat, sophisticated sound which draws inspiration from music from all over the world – crossing genres of classical, jazz and old- fashioned pop.
ESB LIVE is supported by Independent News & Media and Today FM.
